Macromorphology (smell): H. capsulatum subsp. capsulatum is a thermally dimorhic fungus, which grows as a yeast in warm-blooded animals.
Micromorphology: Like mould: Septated hyphae with small conidia and sunflower-like macroconidia (10-15 µm in diameter).
Like Yeast: The yeast cells are oval and 2-5 µm in diameter.
Reproduction:This fungus has both asexual and sexual reproduction and it is heterothallic.
